March 19, 2026, was the first house build by Daily Grace - Guatemala ministry! With our ministry being based in Lemoa it was a real blessing to build a home for a family in the community where we will be making our own home in Guatemala.
Thursday morning the air was crisp and the sun was shining. Our team heads to the work site where we will build a home for a family of five. Little 6-year-old Santos is the middle child, with an older sister and a baby brother. He is home with his parents and baby brother while his sister is at school when we arrive. The concrete slab had been poured, and posts are in and ready for us to finish the home. No time is wasted as our team dives in and starts putting up the wood slats that will make up each side of the house. The 12' by 18' home will be a real upgrade from what the family of five had been living in. However, I don't think anyone was as excited as little Santos. As we were finishing up, Santos grabbed a broom and started to sweep out his new home. Then he proceeded to carry out all our tools and backpacks! He was ready for us to be out so he and his family could move in!
